| Stirling Therapy Consultants is a company
run by David Baker, which incorporates therapeutic training, education,
and clinical intervention for a variety of social, organisational and personal
problems. David Baker is both a highly skilled psychologist and hypnotherapist
. The basis for much of his clinical and organisational work is based
on a type of cognitive therapy called
RATIONAL EMOTIVE BEHAVIOUR THERAPY.
DAVID BAKER MSc. (London) BSc. (Hons) DMS, BABCP (Acc), UKCP(Reg), MNCP(Acc), MNCH(Acc) David brings to his work a lifetime's experience
in dealing with people who have problems with conflict in their personal
or professional lives. He has practiced as a therapist in Wales and
Kent since the 80’s. For many years he has been contracted to provide
a comprehensive therapy service for a UK Health Authority as well as conducting
a busy private practice. David trained under Professor Dryden at
Goldsmiths University College London in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy,
gaining an MSc in REBT. He graduated with a BSc(Hons) in psychology
and has also been awarded a post graduate diploma in management studies
(DMS). David has undertaken special training and study as a Gut Directed
Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist. David is an accredited
member of the National Council of Psychotherapists and the National Council
of Hypnotherapists. He is also accredited by the British Association
of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychologists and is accredited as a psychotherapist
by the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists. David is a graduate
member of the British Psychological Society and in addition has a special
interest in the psychological problems of performing musicians being a
member of the British Performing Arts Medicine Trust. David is senior
therapist and adviser at IMPACT - ‘International Music Performance
Anxiety Consultants and Therapists’.
David has formed a partnership with Meir Stolear to provide workshops to help people deal with conflict and change.
MEIR STOLEAR BA(Hons), Dip CACP, Cert.C.C. Relate, BABCP(Acc), UKCP(Reg) Meir is an accredited and registered Cognitive
Behaviour Therapist. He is accredited by the British Association
for Behaviour and Cognitive Psychotherapies and the United Kingdom Council
for Psychotherapy. Meir has gained a diploma in cognitive approaches
to counselling and psychotherapy and an MSc in Rational Emotive Behaviour
Therapy from Goldsmiths College, University London, where he studied with
Professor Dryden. He also possesses a certificate in marital
and couple counselling [theory and practice], from Relate. Meir graduated
from Hertfordshire University with a B.A.(Hons) in combined studies in
psychology, social work and social sciences. He started his counselling
career in 1993, as a trainee and counsellor with Relate, where he
worked for four years. Meir later worked in the mental health ward
of the Lister Hospital for four years. He provided counselling services
to Guidepost Trust, where he helped clients with mental health problems
and learning difficulties. Currently he provides a therapy service
at the Florence Nightingale Hospital, Marylebone. He is also contracted
to Hertfordshire Probation Service where he provides a counselling service
for the staff and carries out self development workshops. In
addition Meir has a small private practice, provides a counselling service
for a group of G.P’s in primary health care and organises self-development
workshops for the public.
